Trifles:
A new feature has been added to the WESongs “App”. A few months ago, a page entitled Song Scratch was added which lists songs that match whatever section of the Bible in which we are engaging from our A Chapter a Day study. Presently it lists everything for Revelation chapters eight through twelve (and will be turned over next week for chapters thirteen through seventeen). This feature will likely be phased out unless we have a similar study planned for the future (this WESongs “App” can be accessed at https://wesongsapp.blogspot.com/2023/07/the-west-end-songs-app.html).

Trimestrial Song Report, October 27, 2024
From June 23 to October 20, 2024, over the course of four months and 37 services (including our hosting of the Area-Wide Singing), we sang 179 unique songs. Two of them we sang four times, five we sang three times, 30 we sang twice, and 142 of them we only sang once over that period.
It is interesting to note that thirteen of those songs were from our supplemental hymnal Bridges to Praise, many of which were sung during our hosting of the Area Wide Singing in July, also many of them led by visiting song leaders.
While we hosted the Area Wide Singing, one brother asked if it would be permissible to bring a flash drive with other Paperless Hymnal style songs on it that are not available in either our supplemental hymnal or our Praise for the Lord hymnal. If this would be acceptable, perhaps we should advertise such for next year, along with serving notice that we use the PftL hymnal and to provide a listing of our songs in our supplemental hymnal.
Songs Sung for the First Time [by Song Leaders], June 23 - October 20:
Typically I like to bring up when songs have been sung for the first time in a given period. Although there has been only ONE new song led for us during that time, several of our song leaders have taken some steps out of their comfort zones and led some songs for their first times. I do my best to make note of this in my Weekly Song Log Report (both bi-weekly and a compilation over the last year), and here are some examples since June 23:

Songs We Sang for the First Time, Sep 3 - Dec 3:
#27- "All Things Work Together for Good" (verses 1,3, & 4)
#702- "When Morning Comes [We Will Understand it Better]" (verses 1 & 3): We sang this a few times at our Natural Bridge Road location, initially introduced (as best I can recall) by our late brother Robert Brown.
#863- "I Love You with The Love of the Lord" (one verse, 2x)
#890- "The Family of God" - Gaither (a chorus, sung twice for all three times we have sung it since 10-September)
#940- "I Sing Praises" (verses 1&2)
#1642- "The Lord's My Shepherd" - Campbell/Basford (verses 1-5): This is a rearranged version of #642 (same title) which gives the basses and tenors something to sing at the midpoint of the hymn, as opposed to being silent as in the original version.
#3- "Santo, Santo, Santo" (from the Cantos del Camino Spanish Hymnal, verses 1-3): This is a Spanish version of our popular hymn, #238 "Holy, Holy, Holy" using the closing line of "God in three persons, blessed Trinity" for the first and last verses (as opposed to the version we use of "God over all and blest eternally").
#51- "Con Alma Y Voz te Alabaré" (from the Cantos del Camino Spanish Hymnal, verses 1-3): This is a Spanish version of our popular hymn, #438 "My Hope is Built on Nothing Less".
CCLI Top 100
Christian Copyright Licensing International released a "Top 100" list of songs based on reporting data from a broad cross-section of small to large US churches across all denominations licensed with them. Some of the hymns we sing are on the list:
